I said I'd never do it again...

...and I did it. Yep, I cut Taylor's hair. Again. Luckily this time there was no screaming or crying, thanks to Grandma distracting Tay while Mommy "combed" his hair with the clippers. I was even able to trim the hair at the back of his neck. Though I didn't do a perfect job, it was probably the best haircut I've given him so far. Plus it was free. You can't beat free.

Here's a before picture:

And an after picture:

Art Project

It's been a LOOOONNG time since I was able to make anything for our home, and after getting inspiration from my friend Sarah's blog, I decided I'd try a silhouette project.

I really loved the way it turned out and the picture doesn't quite do it justice. I'll do a new silhouette for Taylor (and successive children) every year as their little noggins are always changing. I'm really excited to make a new one for Taylor's second birthday, and I'll make another one when baby #2 arrives.

Fun with "Ampaw"

Taylor loves when Grandpa Reed comes over because it usually means lots of playing, building towers out of blocks, and "Ampaw"-assisted acrobatics. I got some of it on video the last time my dad came to visit:

My favorite part is when he'd yell "I did it!" after every flip. Such a cute little stinker..

So excited!!!

So Tay's birthday is coming up in a couple of months, and I can't wait to take him to this:

I just bought tickets today and I'm so excited! They actually put a Thomas the Tank Engine facade over the front of the Heber Creeper, and a 25 minute ride is included with our tickets. Taylor LOVES Thomas and I think he'll have so much fun riding on a real train. The best part is opening day is on his actual birthday, so Sean and I are taking him that afternoon. I can't wait to see his face when he sees Thomas!! They also have a bunch of activities afterward and he'll get to meet Sir Topham Hatt. It'll be so fun!

Like father, like son.

Taylor LOVES to play on Mommy and Daddy's iPhones. I swear sometimes he knows how to navigate the thing better than I do. He has his own special games on both phones that he loves to play - although occasionally he gets bored with them and resorts to making random phone calls and deleting Mommy's applications. How does he know how to do these things, you ask? Because his daddy is a geek, and geekism is genetic. But hey, I don't mind; nerds rule the world, right?

Why, oh why...

...do I have a magazine rack in easy reach of a certain almost-2-year-old?

Oh yeah, because I love picking magazines off the floor all day.

Yep, that must be it.

Best friends

I haven't felt really well these past couple weeks as morning sickness has shown up with a vengeance. This morning I was laying in bed trying to fight this constant nausea and Taylor was snuggling with me. We were just hanging out and singing songs when he gave me a big grin, leaned over, and while patting my leg said, "Mommy best friend ever."

Yep, that's the sound of my heart melting.

You know you're pregnant when...

...you watch a little girl cry on America's Funniest Videos because she wants to keep a butterfly that has landed on her head, and you bawl uncontrollably for 10 minutes straight.

Gotta love those crazy hormones. Thanks for putting up with me, Sean!
