December 2012

Almost caught up!

This month has been crazy for us, as December is for everyone. We've had a lot of fun and we're all looking forward to starting the new year! Here are some of the things we've done this month.

Tay made lots of forts in the living room since it's too cold to play outside now.

We decorated a gingerbread train.

Ollie started potty training, then immediately stopped potty training. Oliver isn't quite ready yet. Mommy is definitely not ready yet.

The boys spent their days in pajamas (when they weren't playing dress-up).

Daddy and Kitty took lots of naps.

Sean and I went to Doba's Christmas party up at Sundance and Sean won an award. It was an amazing night!

Oliver gave Mommy lots of kisses, and screamed a lot at brother.

Mommy ate very nutritious breakfasts.

Taylor had a cute Christmas program at school.

We took the boys on the North Pole Express up at Heber Valley Railroad. We go every year, and this was the first time Oliver went with us. Knowing his affinity for trains, you can imagine how insanely excited he was about this.

We did our traditional Christmas Eve bowling with my family. The boys loved it!

Taylor read "The Night Before Christmas" to us on Christmas Eve.

Santa came to our house!

The boys have had lots of fun in their totally decked-out playroom.

Sean and I have shoveled lots and lots of snow.

And Oliver has been a super goofball, as usual.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I want to wish our friends and family a very happy and prosperous new year! Love to you all!

Oliver Turns Two!

Ollie turned two years old on December 3rd and we had a birthday party for him at our house a couple of days before. Because he's really into trains right now we decided to throw a train-themed party.

He had a lot of fun opening presents, and he made everyone laugh each time he'd open one and then give it to a random person in the room. By the time he was done opening presents I think everyone in the house had a toy. It was adorable!

When we sang "Happy Birthday" to him he ran and hid, but came back to blow out the candles on his cake.

It was such a fun and special day for him, and I can't believe my baby is already two years old! It breaks my heart a little to see him grow so fast, but it's been so much fun too!

Oliver is now talking like crazy, can count to thirteen, and loves trains, playing hide and seek, refusing to eat, and torturing his brother. He's a little firecracker and keeps us on our toes, but he can also be very sweet and kind when he wants to be.

Love you Ollie Bean! Happy birthday!

November 2012

November was a more mellow month than October was, but we still had lots of fun!

My mom helped us take some family pictures in our backyard.

Ollie was incredibly cooperative.

Tay spent another day at Doba with Sean, and there he invented what is now known in our family as "Mr. TV Head."

The neighbors helped us rake leaves.

Sean hurt his head. Really bad.

Kitty slept a lot.

Sean spoiled me with an iPad Mini.

Then he made a nerdy dock for both of our Minis out of Lego.

Kitty slept with her tongue sticking out.

I made the boys some "bath paint" with shaving cream and food coloring.

We got our first big snow fall of the season.

Kitty helped me with laundry some more.

Ollie and Tay both had croup.

Cinnabon opened at University Mall, which pretty much made my entire year.

Taylor made a creepy bird creature out of Playdoh that reminds me of "The Dark Crystal."

We read books, snuggled, and ate lots of pizza.

Kitty slept in the sun.

I did my yearly Black Friday shopping and got lots of great deals, including a new pre-lit Martha Stewart Christmas tree.

I also did lots of thrift shopping and got us all stocked up with winter gear.

Taylor had a cute Thanksgiving program at school.

Kitty was awake for a few minutes before going back to sleep.

The last of the leaves fell.

I crocheted this slouch beanie for myself, posted it on FB just to show everyone, and had four orders by the end of that week. I think I could make these in my sleep  now.

We put up our Christmas decorations and put lights up for the first time outside.

We finished our Christmas shopping online.

The boys refused to wear clothes.

I scrambled to finish out the semester strong.

And Sean started wearing a funny hat to bed.

Thanksgiving was great as well, but for some reason we didn't take any pictures at all that day. I guess we were just enjoying family time and didn't think about it. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
